"I downloaded this app and was worried about adding the loyalty cards that I only have a digital version of like Lowe's and Starbucks. There is a feature to scan from a picture and that made it super easy to add them! I also loved that I didn't have to log in to the app and could start using it immediately! It also gives you the option to add it to your Apple wallet which had never even crossed my mind before! Definitely recommend using this app!"

What changed
Klarna acquired Stocard in 2021. In late 2024, they made the decision to shut down the Stocard app. Klarna loved the Stocard users, but they hated the app.
The goal was to migrate all the users onto their platform, monetize their presence, and sell them products. Klarna is a buy-now, pay-later app. Your loyalty card wallet now lives inside a financial product that tracks your behavior, shows ads, and requires a full financial account to use.
The simplicity of Stocard is gone.

How to switch
There's no automatic import — Klarna doesn't let apps pull your card data. What there is: a camera and 10 seconds per card.
Free on the App Store. No account needed — you'll be scanning cards before you finish downloading.
Open Hopscotch, tap +, point your camera at the barcode. Works with every format — EAN, QR, Code 128, Data Matrix, PDF417. Gym fobs, grocery rewards, library cards. If Stocard read it, Hopscotch will too.
Tap a card, search for the store, set a geofence. The next time you walk in, the card surfaces automatically. This is the part Stocard never had.

No. Neither Stocard nor Klarna exposes your card data through an export or API. You'll need to re-scan each card. It takes about 10 seconds per card — most people are done in under two minutes.
Hopscotch can't retrieve cards from a failed Stocard migration. But if you still have the physical cards (or a receipt with the barcode), scan them directly into Hopscotch. If you can't find the barcode, contact the retailer's loyalty program team — they can usually look up your account by email and issue a new card number.

On iPhone, your cards are included in your encrypted iCloud backup via standard iOS backup (Hopscotch doesn't control this separately; Apple does). On Android, Hopscotch does not back up to Google Drive; your cards live on your device only and you'd re-scan when switching Android devices. This is a deliberate privacy trade-off — no backup means no cloud copy for anyone to access.
Hopscotch is an independent app from Acorn Designs, LLC. It isn't backed by a BNPL company, financial services firm, or anyone whose business model depends on your shopping behavior. The honest answer: there's no acquisition-proof guarantee, but the current business model (charging businesses, not consumers or data buyers) doesn't create pressure to monetize your card data.
