Stocard alternative · Free · No account

Your loyalty cards back where they belong.

Stocard is gone. Klarna replaced it with a BNPL app that wants your financial data just to show a barcode. Hopscotch is the private, account-optional loyalty card wallet Stocard users have been looking for.

Very Easy and Very Useful!

— Moso22, 5-star App Store review

Very Easy and Very Useful!

"I downloaded this app and was worried about adding the loyalty cards that I only have a digital version of like Lowe's and Starbucks. There is a feature to scan from a picture and that made it super easy to add them! I also loved that I didn't have to log in to the app and could start using it immediately! It also gives you the option to add it to your Apple wallet which had never even crossed my mind before! Definitely recommend using this app!"

Great consolidation

"No need to carry my rewards cards (which I can never find) library, AAA, movie theater etc. Works very seamlessly. Well throughout. No commercial no tracking love it."

Klarna didn't just rebrand Stocard. They changed the deal.

In July 2021, Klarna acquired Stocard — the loyalty card wallet used by 49 million people. In late 2024, the migration began. Users got two weeks to move their cards before Stocard stopped working. The switch wasn't a rename. It was a different product with a different agenda.

Account required

  • Klarna is a financial services company. Accessing your loyalty cards means creating a full Klarna account: phone verification, email confirmation, the works.
  • The confirmation email expires in 60 seconds. Many users reported it took 20 minutes to arrive.

Apple Watch gone

  • Stocard had a Watch app. Tap your wrist at checkout, done.
  • Klarna has no Apple Watch support for loyalty cards. No timeline, no workaround.

BNPL in your wallet

  • Klarna's core product is buy-now-pay-later. Your loyalty card wallet now lives inside a debt product.
  • Its App Store privacy label collects more data than Stocard ever did — see below.

What each app collects, in Apple's own words.

Apple requires every app to disclose its data practices. These are the labels visible on each app's App Store page.

Data Not Linked to You

  • Location
  • User Content

No tracking. Nothing linked to your identity. Apple lists location and user content because Hopscotch uses them on-device — geofencing and the optional reference photos you attach to cards — but neither leaves your phone.

Better where it matters.

Stocard worked because the job was simple. Hopscotch keeps the job simple — and adds the things Stocard never had.

Geofence auto-surface

  • Drop a pin on any store. When you walk in, the card surfaces automatically — notification, widget, Watch, Wallet pass. No opening apps. No competitor has this.

Apple Watch + Wear OS

  • Native Watch app on iPhone and Wear OS on Android. Raise your wrist at checkout. Klarna removed this. We made it.

Apple & Google Wallet

  • Export any card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. One-tap at checkout from the lock screen — no need to open Hopscotch at all.

Smart notifications

  • Two flavors, your choice per card. The in-app notification dismisses cleanly. The Wallet pass version persists at the lock screen for the duration of your visit. Use the right one for each store.

Home screen widgets

  • Your most-used card, rendered as a scannable barcode directly on your home screen. You don't even open the app. iPhone and Android.

Lock screen ready

  • For a card that doesn't need crazy security and you use every day — coffee shop punch card, gym fob — pin it to your lock screen via the Wallet pass. Instant access without unlocking your phone.

Hopscotch vs. the other apps people try after Stocard.

Most replacements solve part of the problem. Hopscotch is the only one with geofencing, Apple Watch + Wear OS, and a Wallet pass path — at no cost.

Moving your cards takes minutes.

There's no automatic import — Klarna doesn't expose your card data for export. But starting fresh is faster than it sounds. 10 seconds per card. Under two minutes for most people.

1

Download Hopscotch

Free on iPhone from the App Store and on Android from Google Play.

2

Scan your cards

Point your camera at any barcode. Hopscotch reads it in under 10 seconds. Gym fob, grocery rewards, coffee punch card — every barcode format.

3

Drop a pin, walk away

Set a location for each store. From that point, Hopscotch handles it. You never dig for the card again.

Still on the fence?

Does Hopscotch require an account?

No. Install it, start scanning. No signup, no email, no phone number. An optional account is only needed for the future business rewards tier — and only if you want to receive opt-in offers from specific stores.

Where do my cards actually live?

On your device. Hopscotch doesn't sync your cards to any server. They're encrypted by your phone's secure hardware (iOS Data Protection / Secure Enclave on iPhone; file-based encryption and Titan M on Android). The only time card data touches our infrastructure is the brief moment when you tap "Add to Apple Wallet" or "Add to Google Wallet" — and that data is discarded immediately after the pass is generated.

Is Hopscotch really free — no catch?

Free to download, free to use, no subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads. The business model is a paid B2B tier for merchants who want to run loyalty programs — that's how we keep the consumer app free.

Does it work on Android too?

Yes. Hopscotch is available on Android from Google Play, with the Wear OS companion app included. It's also on iPhone via the App Store.

Can Hopscotch import my cards from Stocard or Klarna?

Not automatically — neither Stocard nor Klarna exposes card data for export. The good news: scanning a card takes about 10 seconds. Most people have 5–10 cards. That's under two minutes total.

What about Apple Watch?

Hopscotch has a native Apple Watch app. Browse your full card list, tap any card, let the scanner read from your wrist. It's one of the features Klarna removed — and one of the first things we built.

Ready to ditch the Klarna account?

Free. No account. Your cards on your device.
